NASCAR updates its schedule after Coronavirus forced lockdown.

Darlington Cup Series Race Live From South Carolina

NASCAR has officially decided to re-start their races after the COVID-19 Virus lockdown. As per NASCAR’s officials, their race schedule kicks off next weekend with the Darlington Cup Series at Darlington Raceway, SC. The race starts this Sunday’s May 17th at 3:30 pm ET. Fans will be able to follow the race live from FOX, or by downloading the app RACE CENTER from the App Store or Google Play. RACE CENTER will provide live scores, video highlights, race commentary, and more. 

Darlington Raceway's President Kerry Tharp provided a statement to the local community last week: “It’s an honor for Darlington Raceway to resume the 2020 NASCAR season in just a few short weeks with three races in four days. Darlington is one of the most iconic and historic tracks in the sport and will be a tremendous backdrop when NASCAR returns to racing. We certainly appreciate the support from our state’s leadership in working with NASCAR to allow us to host these events.”

Coca Cola 600 Is Back On The Schedule

Following Darlington's Raceway's announcement, NASCAR also confirmed its Coca Cola 600 race to take place in Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC. This race is scheduled for May 24th at 3:00 PM ET. Authorities indicated that fans will not be allowed to attend any of NASCAR’s return events for security purposes. Instead, fans will be able to streamline the event online and on TV.

Other races, including the All-Star Race, that were originally scheduled for Charlotte’s Motor Speedway during the month of May are now postponed. NASCAR will announce future race dates in the upcoming weeks.

As per local health authorities, NASCAR will continue to have strict social distancing and other health protocols that protect the community.
